Lisa's off to Philly

Nathan's sister Lisa left for Philadelphia yesterday. She'll be going to grad school at Bryn Mawr for social work. We'll miss her, and Benjamin is especially sad to see her go since she won't be home again until Christmas. He'll be happy to sit up for her then though!

Happy four-month-old birthday, Benjamin!

Benjamin turned four months old this week. He's getting bigger and bigger, smiling a lot more and sleeping well in his crib. He's also balding--his newborn hair is falling out, and we're excited to see what color comes in next!

Confirming My Spouse

After resisting the lure of Facebook for months, Andrea has finally succumbed, and is now hooked.

This resulting e-mail sounded so sinister when it arrived in my inbox:
Andrea says that you two are married on Facebook. We need you to confirm that you are, in fact, married to Andrea.

To confirm this relationship request, follow the link below.

To put the Facebook people's minds at ease, I confirmed. (Even though it's not at all true that we were "married on Facebook." We were married in a church.)

It was all so official, it felt like we should renew our vows or something. Or maybe couples should start putting it in their vows to begin with, to save a step: "to have and to hold, to Add as a Friend on Facebook ..."

Benjamin's Baptism

Benjamin was baptized today! We sang the same song that was sung at Andrea's baptism, ending with this verse:

To us and our children the promise is made, if we will but trust in his word. In baptism joining the people of God, we live in the power of his grace. God gives us life, and we give him thanks: 'To you be our praise evermore! You are our God; we are your people.'

Refreshed!

We're feeling very refreshed today because Benjamin slept through the night last night! He slept for over 8 hours and woke up happy and not crying. Now we're just hoping he'll keep it up!
