Go Blue!

Thanks to our friend Emily, we scored tickets to the Michigan vs. Michigan St. football game in Ann Arbor this weekend. Though the game wasn't that suspenseful, it was great to be back on the campus and in the Big House.
Nathan was a maize and blue fan through and through even though he's taking a class at MSU this fall. I even told him I thought he should wear his Michigan hat to his class yesterday. He didn't think that would go over very well.

We had a great time catching up with Emily and enjoying Ann Arbor. We even caught part of the Michigan vs. Michigan St. soccer game Sunday afternoon. It was great weather for watching sports this weekend!

You folks were sitting about 50 rows behind me in the student section; that is, the students who were bashing the lonely MSU fan with a inflatable phallic symbol late in the third quarter.

Random MSU/UofM rivalry observations:

- The football rivalry seems to be a much bigger deal to MSU fans than UofM fans (with the exception of UofM fans who live in East Lansing). UofM fans seem much more interested in OSU games. [I find this especially ironic given the state of MSU's football program since the 1960s or so]

- On the flip side, my experience is that you're more likely to get hassled wearing an MSU hat around Ann Arbor than you are wearing a Michigan hat on MSU's campus.

Oh my, I wish I had know, I was at that game also. My nephew plays for U Of M. We totally could have met somewhere. Oh well.
