Now We're Half Def

We said to ourselves, "Let's Get Rocked," and headed to Van Andel Arena last night to see Journey and Def Leppard, who are touring together, capitalizing on everyone's mid-life-crises and 1980s nostalgia.

The bands paid plenty of homage to the Tigers -- Journey fill-in lead vocalist Jeff Scott Soto donned a Tigers jersey for the timeless hit "Don't Stop Believin'" and pointed to it emphatically during the line "born and raised in South Detroit," while Def Leppard co-founder Joe Elliot wore a Tigers T-shirt for the band's two encore songs, "Love Bites" and "Pour Some Sugar On Me." Down in St. Louis, the Tigers were getting thumped. But in Van Andel Arena, the 1980s were alive and well.

Journey makes GR its Destination

Def Leppard can't spell, but they can sing

I SOOO wanted to go to this show when it came to Red Rocks this summer! And we waited too long to get tickets so we couldn't. Sad. Glad you got to enjoy it!

I didn't take you guys to be Def Leppard fans, I guess I should read your blog more often. Nancy went to concert because she's a recent Journey convert. Who did you like better?
